Proposal for Webinar on "Light and CO2 Response Curves and Fitting
Dear PEPG Special Interest Group Members,
I hope this message finds you well. I would like to propose organizing a meeting or webinar on the topic of "Light and CO2 Response Curves and Fitting" as it relates to plant environmental physiology. I believe such an event would greatly benefit PhD students and early-career researchers, providing valuable insights into methodological expertise in plant ecophysiology and Plant environmental physiology, particularly in leaf gas exchange measurements.
The webinar could focus on the techniques for measuring photosynthetic responses to dynamic light and CO2 environments, offering a deeper understanding of the photochemical limitations and capacities. We could also cover methods for measuring light and CO2 responses using both steady-state and non-steady-state approaches and explore the process of curve fitting in R to estimate parameters like Vcmax and Jmax. Additionally, we could include a discussion on developing standardized protocols and configuring instruments for these measurements.
I believe this would be a highly beneficial learning opportunity for PhD students like myself and others who are working in the field of plant ecophysiology and plant environmental physiology. Your feedback and interest in organizing such a session would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for considering this suggestion, and I look forward to your thoughts.
Best regards,
