A Huge Success at Southwell Minster: SEB at the Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity

Over 800 attendees explored the wonders of science at Southwell Minster, thanks to a fantastic collaboration between the Society for Experimental Biology, local universities, and dedicated volunteers.

The Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity, running from 10 to 21 February 2025, is celebrating its 10th anniversary as a key platform for showcasing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) across Nottinghamshire.
The festival offers a variety of free and interactive events aimed at inspiring the next generation of scientists and encouraging the public to engage with STEM disciplines.

On 16 February 2025, Southwell Minster hosted an interactive Science Day as part of the Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity. This family-friendly event welcomed over 800 visitors eager to engage with hands-on scientific activities and discover the excitement of science.

This  day featured a wide range of interactive workshops and attendees had the opportunity to participate in engaging experiments, educational games, and creative science activities designed to spark curiosity in learners of all ages.

Volunteers from both universities played a crucial role in making the event a success.
Their enthusiasm and expertise helped create a welcoming and stimulating environment where visitors could explore science in a fun and interactive way.
